We regret to inform you of the passing of New York Torts Weekly author, Matthew J. McMahon. A brilliant trial lawyer, Matt’s career spanned over four decades during which he obtained numerous million and multi-million dollar verdicts. A life long devotee of the law, he continued to study, write, and offer guidance throughout his retirement. He appeared on television and radio, and authored several books on law and politics. He also received the New York State Bar President’s “Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award” for his commitment to providing free service and information to the community. A great friend and a generous mentor, Matt will be profoundly missed by all those fortunate to have known him.
With Matt’s passing, New York Torts Weekly will be discontinued, and all subscribers will receive a pro rata refund.
